In the midst of the rapid technological advancement our world is seeing nowadays, and the invasion of social media in our personal and work life, Augmented Reality (known as AR) comes to take our communication, the entertainment industry, and the gaming industry by storm. Augmented Reality is basically a computer generated image projected on the real world. Or simply put, Augmented Reality is seeing something in reality that actually does not exist; but is virtually created from a mobile camera or a PC webcam. Popular examples of AR include Snapchat selfies and mobile games like Pokemon. Moreover, AR is used in navigation and product demos. In BSocial, our very own Vhorus; a subsidiary of BSocial and its arm for AR and VR, websites, web and mobile development, 360 imaging and video has made its footprint in augmented reality with multiple projects that prove how augmented reality is gradually showcasing its importance in the digital arena. First, is Vhorus’ twist on the traditional business cards: using augmented reality technology and Vhorus’ app, one can place the mobile camera over a business card and see 3D pictures of the products or services that the company offers, thus revamping the conventional business card to make it an engaging tool of presenting the company. This tool for business cards can apply on real estate, automotive, and education. Second, Vhorus is developing multiple AR games that are fun and entertaining. However, in order for AR to spread more widely; people must have correct understanding of what AR actually is. Unfortunately, many people don’t know what AR means or what its uses are. That’s why Vhorus is on a mission to spread this awesome technology bit by bit.
